SUMMARY:Metaphysics and Theology in the Platonic Tradition - a residential 
 course
DESCRIPTION:Our residential weekends take place in the UK. One module is ma
 de up of three weekends. For more information on how we run these please r
 ead our dedicated page here. \n\nCourse theme: Our philosophical experien
 ces and studies are to be understood in the framework of metaphysics and t
 heology – areas of ethics and virtue\, epistemology and dialectics\, psy
 chology and cosmology\, as well as initiation and worship\, are all pulled
  together as a whole only insofar as they embraced by this single framewor
 k.  For the Platonic tradition metaphysics is also theology because the G
 ods are understood to be the causes of all things\, profoundly united as t
 hey are to the One or the Good\, the “cause of all beautiful things” a
 s Plato’s second letter puts it\, and yet they provide the initial start
 ing point for the differences which ultimately manifests as a divine plero
 ma – the all.\n\nThis module will be our best attempt at exploring a coh
 erent framework\, giving ourselves the time and space to explore the natur
 e of unity and being\, and the relationships between the eternal and the t
 emporal. We will draw on some basic Platonic dialogues\, together with the
  writings of the late Platonist who did so much to tease out the implicati
 ons of those dialogues.\n\nThe weekends take place 27-29 September\, 1-3 N
 ovember\, 6-8 December 2024- costs per weekend range from £175 to £200 (
 which includes all food and drink and either a non-suite or ensuite bedroo
 m). Bursaries and payment plans are available- payments are due three week
