SUMMARY:The Essentials of the Philosophy of Plato and his Tradition
DESCRIPTION:This is a course designed to give a broad view of Platonism and
  to bring to light some of the more neglected aspects of the tradition. Ou
 r particular aim is to lay before participants the possibilities of Platon
 ic philosophy as a spiritual path\, exploring the insights of the ancient 
 tradition while avoiding a dogmatic approach. The course is run over four 
 Sunday afternoons\, where the study/discussion will be underpinned by stud
 y papers and some background papers.  We will use zoom for the study sess
 ions and our space on Slack to share thoughts and materials. All times are
  UK.\n\nSession 1: Sunday 10th August  3:30-7.30pm: Intro and metaphysics
 \n\nSession 2: Sunday 17th August 3:30-7.30pm: The Soul\n\nSession 3: Sund
 ay 24th August  3:30-7.30pm: Dialectic\, love and virtue\n\nSession 4: Su
 nday 31st August  3:30-7.30pm Myth\, initiation and theurgy.\n\nWe try to
  keep the numbers low and ask you to commit to attending all four sessions
