Events
Truth, according to Plato, is like a fire enkindled within us, and education should be a bringing forth of these truths. To do this we run events across the UK, in Europe and online. We run an introductory course to explore the many facets of the tradition. After that for those that want to take this further we run modules- either fortnightly online sessions for 7-8 weeks or three residential weekends in the UK, spread across 3-4 months. We also annually convene a conference with many interesting people exploring the tradition from all angles, as well as a week long course in Italy. For those that just want to get to know us a bit more we run one-off open sessions, both in person in Bristol and London and online.
In the Socratic way we believe that person to person engagement is at the core of successful philosophy—we believe this is best done in person but do understand if this isn’t always possible. In fact it gives us great joy to connect with like-minded individuals across the globe, and hope there’s something here for everyone. Unless specified all our events are open to all, no matter what your knowledge or expertise in philosophy. We do however try to give a broadening and deepening pathway into this great tradition so please read all descriptions carefully. We do not charge—we don’t believe that wisdom can be bought or sold—and for residential courses what we charge covers our costs and our venues’ costs. We are a charity so if you feel you can donate when you participate on one of our courses please do.
If you’d like to know more about donating please go here.
