The Prometheus Trust is looking to expand its publishing programme over the coming years as we seek to fulfill our founding aims — “to encourage, promote and assist the flowering of philosophy as the living love of wisdom.”
Contents
Introduction
We hope to publish books which take direction from the Platonic tradition which understood philosophy as the primary discipline whereby the soul or the inner self recovers her god-like nature. The scope of the Platonic tradition is wide: it can provide a guide for both the inner and the outer life, and it embraces not only the recognized branches of philosophy but also religion, science and the arts. Our plan is that our catalogue will reflect the depth and breadth of this philosophy, providing illumination for those who are well grounded in the tradition and helping to establish a sound foundation for those who are coming to Platonic philosophy and its tradition for the first time.
We are seeking to publish works written from a wide variety of perspectives and we welcome submissions from authors with varying backgrounds—academic, non-academic, and shades in between — but all of whom are inspired by the possibilities of philosophy as the love of wisdom.
Submission Guidelines for Authors
Please submit a book proposal which includes an outline of chapters, statement of aims/purposes, your thoughts on likely readership, and approximate word length, together with a sample chapter (maximum of 15,000 words) for the consideration of the Editorial Board.
